Montana

We made a very quick trip to Montana this last week. Camron called us and said that he was graduating from the Job Corp program and wanted us to come to his graduation. We left Wed. morning at 3 am and drove to Ronan, Montana. (10 hours). It was awesome to see his graduation. Job Corp is on a Reservation and so we got to experience some culture there with drumming and chanting throughout the ceremony.

He graduated as a Heavy Equipment Operator.

We also got to meet Camron's Fiance, Hajime.

After the graduation, we went out to eat with Camron and then we drove another one and half hours by Flathead Lake to Cassie's.

and their cute cabin.
We got to see a little bit of Glacier National Park in the wintertime the next morning and it was beautiful.
Then we drove 12 hours back home. So basically we drove 24 hours within a 48 hour time period. Good thing we didn't have our kids or that could have been very interesting. It was well worth it though to see Camron and also Cassie & Scott.

Nice Spring Day to Work In the Yard?

So we are letting are kids each have a small part of the garden to plant what they want, but they are responsible for it also.
They were so excited about this that they worked for in the garden for over 4 hours. (That was not forced by the parents.) They even planted a few things.
Then the next morning we woke up to quite a few inches of snow!!! I am so ready for Spring!!

Easter Day

We had to wake up early Easter morning cause our church was at 9. Well, I guess we didn't have to, but the kids wanted to. We did the normal easter egg hunt at home and at grandma's. Grandma also did special eggs that had "Grandma Bucks" in them and then she had a store for them to buy stuff afterwards.

Decorating Easter Eggs

Easter was a lot of fun this year because all of the kids could participate. We didn't have any babies to worry about when decorating the eggs, etc. Babies are great, don't get me wrong, but there is a time and season for everything. I feel like it is a whole new world this year because I have been 12 years with babies or one year olds. Toren of course, like most boys, loved getting his hands dirty while decorating eggs.

Toren's Dress-Up Days

Toren loves to dress up with Kinley, much to his dad and brother's dis-approval. So I just had to document it and have black mail pictures for when he is older.

4-Day Get-A-Way

Dallan & I were able to get away on a little trip. You know how it always takes more planning time than the actual trip ever was. Well we made it. We flew to St. Louis for a Leadership Conference. We were able to do quite a few things in our 4 short days gone. We went to Carthage Jail. I had been there with my sisters and mom a few years ago, but Dallan had never been there. It was incredible. We then went to Nauvoo. We only had a couple of hours to look around the different buildings and then we went through a session at the Nauvoo Temple. There is such a feeling there knowing the sacrifices that Joseph Smith and the early saints went through for us to be able to have what we have now. Amazing! If you have been there, you know what I am talking about. If you haven't, well I guess you will just have to go see yourself. We also were able to drive by the St. Louis Temple. I had never seen that before. We went to a little branch there on Sunday. That was an adventure. The Branch President stood up and said "Good Morning" and the whole audience yelled out "Good Morning". We weren't expecting that. Although different, there was a feeling of warmth and love there. It's good to get out of Utah and see what else there is. It was rejuvinating to get away and see those sights.

Finished Project

Yea! I finished a project that I started in June 2007. Yes that is 8 months ago. I haven't been working on it this whole time. I actually stuffed it in my closet for 5 of the months while we were looking for a house, buying a house, and remodeling it. This is a quilt that "we" made for Dallan's mother. The reason I said "we" is because my mom helped and did more that I did for this quilt, and also because all daughters, daughters-in-laws, and grand-daughters(over the age of 7)stitched all their names for the middle of the quilt. We stitched the names in July during our doll-party. It turned out so cute, just don't look too close if you're a perfectionist. Not all my lines lined up. I am a very beginner when it comes to piecing quilts. I am excited that it is finished and I can move onto something else. You only see 1 of the four corners of the quilt in order to really get an idea what it looks like.
